Dr. Marionna Mendiola is our lead instructor and consultant. She is a theoretical psychologist with a specialization in police psychology. Her two fields of expertise are self-regulation of police officers in relation to officer behavior and police stress. She is awaiting the start of formal training to conduct psychological autopsies of suicide victims to gain a subspecialty in suicidology. Dr. Marionna is a former member of the American Psychological Association (Divisions 1, 44, and 354) and the Association for Psychological Science.

She earned her undergraduate degrees and Master of Science in Administration of Justice and Security (with a concentration in global homeland security) from the University of Phoenix.

Dr. Marionna earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from the Capella University School of Behavioral and Social Sciences, where she was recognized for her academic excellence as a member of the Capella University President's List, the Capella University Chapter of the Psi Chi Honor Society, and Presidential Membership in the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Dr. Marionna has over 30 years of combined public safety experience as a police officer working various assignments (patrol, narcotics, warrants, K9, and criminal interdiction) and as a firefighter/paramedic/hazardous materials technician.

She is also a certified WMD instructor (radiological/nuclear) and law-enforcement hazmat technician through the United States Department of Homeland Security and Center for Radiological Nuclear Training. She is an experienced instructor, having taught numerous classes throughout her law enforcement career.
